912 Registry Calendar 6/08 800 x 600 pixels, 117KB file Stephen Dimbylow of Malmesbury, England has owned his 912 since 2007 and bought it from Max at Revival cars near London. It is a fairly rare right hand drive model with a 1967 engine in a 1965 bodyshell, restored in 1995 to original specifications. He has history with the car dating back to 1979 and is researching if it was a UK or South African car originally. Stephen got interested in the 912 from looking at websites like the 912 Registry, Dave's 912, DDK and the Maestro. He is also a Porsche Club GB member. |

912 Registry Calendar 2/08 800 x 600 pixels, 133KB file 912 Registry Member Jay Aldeguer's 1968 912, one of only a few in the Philippines. Jay acquired his 912 with only 9,000 plus original miles from a couple who had bought the car brand new as their present to each other during their honeymoon trip in the U.S. They spent a few weeks driving the car around California and then imported the car to the Philippines. "The original owner kept the car in immaculate condition that when I acquired the car five years ago, it had only 9,000 plus original miles on it. The car was in such excellent shape that all I had to do was put a fresh coat of paint on it after the color had faded over the years, nothing more. There was no sign of rust at all; the car drove tight and the engine ran well. The interiors felt and looked brand new. It even had the original Semperit tires on them except that it was obviously too brittle to run. Until this day, I continue to visit the previous owner and we talk about the memories we both share with the 912. He is about 35 years my senior and has constantly expressed that he is happy to have turned the car to a “young man” who he now knows would take good care of his 912. While the car is still in concourse condition under my care, it has never been deprived of the runs they were built to do. I find most gratification in my Porsches by driving them. So together with some friends from a local classic car club, we go for a drive every chance we get, whether to go to a nearby beach resort for cocktails or a long weekend run. Since the Philippines is an archipelago of over 7,000 islands, I take my 912 on “Island Hopping” drives quite often. One day, we hope to see some of the members of the 912 registry come down and join us in our runs." Still original Tangerine, used for concours; Interests - Events, Touring, Technical, Restoration, Show |
