Since November 15, 1997, the 912 Registry has kept owners of surviving 912s and 912Es in contact worldwide. In 2003 our first Board of Directors formed a 912 Registry non-profit corporation. Current Officers include President John Benton, Treasurer Brian Mendel, Secretary/Membership Coordinator Thomas Lockton, 912 Gear Coordinator Christie Martin, Registry Newsletter Editor Charles Danek and Co-Editor Carol LeFlufy, Bruce Reed, Jason Pamental, Norv Parr, Greg Stout, Bud O'Lea, and Barwaut Verhoeven. We are soliciting additional volunteers for the Board and for many other events, activities, and committees. So please contact us with a show of interest and a description of your talents!

Please explore our website to learn how 912 owners are still enjoying these great Porsches today! Whichever is your favorite, completely stock, completely outlaw, rare special order, racer or polizei car, top up or top down, the 912 is a time-proven classic. With its timeless style, solid construction and enjoyment factor, 912 Owners will be driving these classics for many more years to come. In light of environmental considerations, high fuel costs, and new technology (i.e. USA requiring a fleet average of 35.5 mpg by 2016), the Factory may produce a next-generation 912 with new-technology alternative engine. A November 2010 report from Car and Driver's Jens Meiners indicates Porsche is developing "a turbocharged flat-four derived from the current Boxster flat-six" and along with the 2012 911, internally being called the 991; and C&D says " If the market demands a fuel-economy champ—or one is needed—Porsche also could install a turbocharged flat-four essentially identical to the one soon to be found in the Boxster. (If such a model happened, would it be called the 912?)". Then in January 2011 Automobile Magazine reported two prototype engines, the first "1.9 liters, a turbocharger, and 210 horsepower with 215 pound-feet of torque" and the second "turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four (presumably water-cooled) is good for around 360 horsepower." Car and Driver's Jens Meiners reported in March 2011 "As usual, the next [2013] 911 line will spawn spin-offs like few other cars on the road......... Porsche will offer a hybrid and might even add a turbocharged four-cylinder engine to the portfolio." Maybe we'll be seeing a new 912 Turbo (AKA 992?) with more HP than the original 930?
