Steve's was found to be the earliest know 912 delivered to America; he writes "In early 1965, my uncle ordered a 356.  When 356 production ended, he was asked to switch the order to a 912.  So this early 912 has a 3-gauge, yellow-painted dashboard in the 356 tradition.  He took delivery during an extended family tour of Europe (June 1965).  I was there too, aged 2-1/2."  A photo gallery of the Steve's and other model Porsches and car details can be viewed at www.Porsche60years.com.  Interests-Events, Touring, Technical, Restoration, Show

South Carolina USA plate missing; the VIN is not correct for a 912. It says "911" on the trunk ID plate, and the door plate is missing. The car was definitely wrecked sometime in the past, and I think it received the front clip - along with the ID plate - from a 911. It appears that the rear of the car has always been a 912.  Now red, daily driver.  Interests: Events, Touring, Technical, Restoration, Show
C-P   500 ML Joe Soler   USA I've been driving [my] 1965 912  for 41 years.  Still a love affair. Looking for wiper switch and european heater crossover tube. Got some good leads on the registry. Thank you Joe Soler

C-P 6402 115 ML 912 Registry Member Level!Mike Lawrence Kentucky USA Mike Lawrence's '65 912 in Kentucky, USAIt's cool. Now Red, used for Touring. The car had always been registered as a '66, but  I checked some documents that came with the car and realized the car was delivered to a Lt. Col. in the US Air Force in Stuttgart on July 27, 1965 compete with a Blaupunkt radio (it still has) & Dunlop tires for a grand total of $4,130.75. The car was later shipped to the US from  Belgium in 1966, that is where I think the discrepancy in the date of manufacture began. The car's not perfect but the engine & the rest of the car is still very original runs good & is fun to drive (also seems to turn a lot of heads). Thanks Mike  Interests-Events, Touring, Technical, Restoration, Show
