Just purchased my second Porsche (9/01). I'm so excited I had to tell someone. I had a 914, now I have my first 912 it is in excellent condition inside & out. Need to find out everything I can. Interior has been restored looks great. Looking at a new set of wheels & fog lights then a paint job; think it was silver & now it is an orangey red. Nothing like a 40 year old red head in a 30 something sportscar. Can't wait for winter to get the project started & complete!

C-K 6602 KM Mark Curley New York USA Still Original color, Now Restoring. I found this car by accident in April '04. I knew nothing about the 912 at this time, but bought it anyway because it was "born" the same year as me! Now, after doing research on the 912, and finding this site, I am psyched to get it back on the road. It had been in storage since 1988, covered, in a dry barn, so it is in great shape. I am documenting everything that I do to put on a web page to help future owners. Interests-Events, Touring, Technical, Restoration, Show, Rallies, Autocross, Racing; Technical Committee

C-K 6609 700 27 ML 912 Registry Member Level!Mart Boudestein Noord-Holland The Netherlands I purchased the car July last year (2005) from a dealer in Bridgeville near Pittsburgh PA (it was listed on Ebay. I won the auction. So I bought the car while I hadn't seen it in reality!) After a long shipping delay It finally arrived the third week of October in Rotterdam. The first impression was really good! Original tool kit, jack and owners manual were in the car.  I asked CPR Almere (a Dutch classical PORSCHE-specialist) to do a check up and to prepare the car for the import test. The outcome of the check up was:  The car had an original colour (6609) repaint (high quality job!), the front/nose element and front fenders are replaced (the new front element has the hole for the wiper/washer reservoir early cars hadn't). Condition of the coach is very good. Chrome is original and still very nice. The interior is also completely original and still in an extremely good, almost new condition. Original manufacturor mounted radio Blaupunkt Bremen (with all the owners documentation).  Engine and transmission are also original (matching numbers). The extreme low mileage at the moment of purchase (26907 miles) was called correct! But...(there's always a 'but'...) the bottom was in a less good condition. It was dirty and showed some surface rust also. Some former sloppy welding work was discovered (small copper plates were used!). Immediate welding was necessary at two places. At the frontal mounting point with the subframe and at the left rear side near the torsion bar. After this work was done the car went through the import test without any problem. At this moment the bottom is completely redone and prepared. It was totally cleaned first, got an anti rust treatment (with Fertan) and a fresh layer of Tectyl. All hollow spaces were wax-oiled, even the insides of the doors. The car seems fully prepared now for the Dutch climate. Its a great car! Used for touring; Interests-Events, Touring, Technical, Restoration, Show, Rallies, Autocross, Racing; Information/Newsletter Committee Photo
C-K 6602 96 ML Gary M. Cookee Coquoz Wisconsin USA Purchased this car 10/3/99 from a relative in Grand Junction, CO....the car was restored from 1984 thru 1994 by one Bruce Bolton.   It was set up for racing.  Bruce won the "Class 2" PCA state of Colorado driving competition in this car in 1992 & 1993.  He sold it to a Bonnie Atensio in 1994...While Bonnie owned it, the engine let go...engine was completely rebuilt with big bore, webers, crank, etc....Bonnie sold it to my cousin in 1996...he put 4,000 miles on it...I purchased it & drove it back to Wisconsin ....nice car!...a rare find in Wisconsin!
