T-P-sw Code is not recorded 100 M Sold Georgia USA I think this may be the 100,000 Porsche built. note build date of 12/19/66 and VIN # 550019.(#100,000 was delivered on 12/21/66)  Also there are indications that it was a police car when new.  My car also was rebodied, body shipped 01/27/68 chassis # 13 531 I have a letter from Porsche on this. Also car was owned by Harold E. Fischer a Korean war Ace of note. It is a Euro Car. As for any Mods I have been told they were done out side of the factory. Items on my Certificate that I am told make it a Police car are: Tandem inside Mirror, Seat Frame and Frame Reinforcement, 2 Diagonal Torso Belts. Originally white, now brown
NOTE: It is believed that 912 Targas above were constructed in December 1966 as 1967 models, up to at least #550019.
T-P-sw     912 Registry Member Level!Jon Preston California USA My 2nd Porsche was a 1968 912 Targa that I sold in 1980 to buy a 911. Although I liked the 911 (first and second ones) truth is I loved the 912. In Feburary of 1991 I decided to look for another early 912 Targa and found 912 #035, a early 1967 912 soft window Targa. This car has some interesting options like a 5 speed, factory installed Recaro sport seats, and 1967 4 1/2" 911S alloys. This car was a customer direct factory purchase and was imported as a new car by the buyer so I also have the original, hand typed and signed factory invoice showing the details of the car and the customs clearance papers showing the duty paid. No need for a COA. Along the way I rebuilt the engine, replaced the back window and had the sport seats rebuilt and recovered. This was not or is not a restoration and 90% of the interior is original. Now some 17 years later I still own the car and is a "forever" car.. Although the 912 lives in Calif. I live overseas (Taiwan) so I don't get to drive it nearly as often as I wish. Still original white, used for touring.

T-P-sw 68-6604-G 51 M 912 Registry Member Level!Don Weaver North Carolina USA Don Weaver's very early '67 912 SWT in North Carolina, USAStill white, now restoring, needs paint.  I have the original 912 service book which shows it was delivered to a Walter Wanger of Woodstock Illinois in Florida by Orange Motors of Miami Florida on April 21, 1967.  Walter must have been an enthusiastic owner as his name appears in the Porsche Club of America 8th Treffen to Stuttgart pocket guide held Sept 17 thru Oct 8 of what year I am not sure.  My neighbor and friend Michael Mauney bought it from his widow, Louise Wagner  in the Chicago area about 1980 and has owned it ever since.  Last week [5/2009] he sold it to me. The engine turns over freely but I have yet to start as first I have to figure out how to drain about 1/2 tank of 2 year old fuel out of the tank!  It has lots of surface rust but other than the area in front by the tow hook there are no real holes rusted in the sheet metal!  The oil smells like gas so I plan on rebuilding the Solex Carbs and painting the original Light-Ivory code 131 back on and keeping the car as original as  possible.  Believe miles are original 99.9 % complete; Interests: technical, restoration, show

T-P-sw 97-6606 213 90 ML Tim Noble Pennsylvania USA Tim Noble's '67 912 SWT in Alps when newStill original green, tan interior, used for touring, car has been in the family. My aunt Sylvia and uncle Lt Col Walter Lukens purchased this car from Porsche on March 20, 1967 and toured the Italian Alps for several weeks before sending it to So California. Options include 5 Fuchs wheels, headrests, Bremen radio, Dunlops, seat belts, ski rack, European heating system, Italian air conditioning, upgraded European headlights and other things I cannot translate from the original paperwork. After moving to DC in the mid 70s, my aunt Sylvia used it as a daily driver until they passed it on to me with 55,000 miles in 2000 where I immediately removed the air. Repainted original Irish green in lacquer ca. 1990, still with near mint original interior and very superficial rust - 99% undercoating and original paint elsewhere. Engine rebuild in 2002, new shocks and soft window. I literally learned to drive in this car just before turning 16 and its a keeper along with a Convertible D and others. Near perfect original example.   Never even been in rain.

The original color was Aga Blue (paint code 97-6608-L) but it was beautifully painted black probably about the same time as the conversion. Have toyed with converting it back to 912 spec, but I really like the 911 power! :-) Awesome car!
T-P-sw   81 ML Gary Cockrell Montana USA  First sold by C.Carlson Porsche in Palo Alto, CA on 4/5/67. I purchased it in Palo Alto in 1992 with 80,551 miles on it. Drew Phillips Texas USA Currently is silver; I just "inherited" this car from my uncle...his toy.....  and I know little about Porsches, except what I've read over the last month or two... but I'm looking forward to owning & driving this great old car. I can certainly see how they could become addictive.  He also has a wrecked 67 coupe that I can use for whatever parts are still usable... so I have my choice of two engines, & either a 4 or 5 speed transmission...the 5 speed is in the Targa.

T-P-sw 79-6609-G 68 ML 912 Registry Member Level!Sheldon Witte Missouri USA I just happened to be helping a friend out for the day, who was performing some maintenance items at a clients lake house. I found out they had an older Porsche and were considering selling it. I drove up to Columbia Missouri within the next couple of days to see the Porsche. It turns out to be a 1967 Porsche 912 Targa Soft Window with a little over 67,000 original miles on it. This Porsche was purchased new by a Mizzou Professor. Several years later it was sold to a friend who was an MFA Oil executive, who purchased it for his wife's 2nd car. During it's time in Columbia, this Porsche was maintained by Carl Edwards. I became the 3rd owner of this '67 Porsche 912 Targa Sort Window on April 23, 2009. After driving it home, I've installed a new battery, new tires and purchased a new Soft Window to be installed yet. The Targa was starting to show signs of rock chips on it's exterior after 42 years, so I recently decided to take it to a paint shop to have the exterior gone over and repainted to make her look new again. Hopefully, I'll be adding pictures soon.... :-) Interests: Technical, Restoration, Show
