912E Preseries  Dr. Berndt Bergk and the first Type 923
Dr. Bergk's Preseries 912E

The First 912E:  Dr. Berndt Bergk writes:

Thank you for your interest in my 912 E, which I have driven for 28 years.  For better understanding, I'm adding a short car's history and additional pictures.  I do own with the car original parts lists for all Porsches including 912 E (1976) and those additions to the work shop manual, that specially relate to 912 E .

This is to inform you, that finally I really sold the car last year [2005], with more tears in my eyes than I expected.

However it has found a good new home in Hamburg, Germany to be part of a private Car museum called "Prototyp" (located in the old restored harbour quarter)and dedicated to the work of Ferdinand Porsche. This will be opened hopefully soon to the public.

The new owners drove the appr. 400 miles to Hamburg in 5 hours, but as we found out, there will be a lot of car body restoration necessary for a perfect museum exhibition standard.

All the best with your own Porsche!

-Kind regards-
Dr. Berndt Bergk
