What is the single best
aftermarket product for a 912/912E? |
| From: Dave Hillman; New seats. The original ones were too
low, too soft, and had no head restraint. Mine are from a 944. I took a picture: www.hillmanimages.com/servlet/P912?module=Pix&image=909-299-25.jpg From: David L Cates; The single best aftermarket product for a southern car has got to be 'Bill Hirsch Miracle Paint' as seen in Hemmings. Rust being the true enemy of Dr. Porsche. David Cates, Sunny South Carolina. From: Robert Burn; The most important aftermarket addition for me was a CD ignition system. When the car reached the end of the warranty period (12K mi) I added a Delta Mark 10 CD system, which plugs in between the distributor and the coil. About 15 yrs later it died; I replaced it with the latest model from Delts (a Mark 10B I think). A hotter spark has kept it much smoother under acceleration... From: bsr; i find the best after market part you can buy , is a third brake light wing looks cool and has a great purpose. brian From: Dean Klein; Weber carbs of course.
Barring that, good sheepskin seat covers! The car is damn near perfect as
is...just get some warm woolies and drive the tires off it! I do ;) From: Trenholme, Hello. For
me this is a simple question, but unfortunately only applies to the earlier 912's. The Felpro valve cover gaskets are the greatest. They absolutely do not leak and take the
biggest hassle out of doing a valve adjustment......cleaning off the sealing surface and
re-gluing or doing whatever you do to try and get a seal. With the Felpro gaskets there is
no cleaning or required glues. Just put them in place and re-install the spring clip and
away you go! No more leaks and they are fully reusable. A valve adjustment/check now takes
me about 15 minutes tops. I have had my valve covers off at least 10 - 15 times and the
Felpro gaskets still do not leak a drop! They go for about $15.00/pair and for that price
they might also be the cheapest aftermarket part you can buy as well. They are available
