Where, when, how have you raced your 912 (sanctioned events)?

Lambert's racing '68 912From: Rich Lambert; red912@acmenet.com; The "Where" is: I've raced my '68 912 in vintage events at Seattle International Raceway and Bremerton Raceway with SOVREN, the vintage racing sanctioning body up here in the Pacific Northwest.
The "When" is: Last year and the year before. I had planned on racing this season, but a myriad of events prevented that from happening. The big one is we built a new garage and shop so I'd have a nice big place
to work on the car. Unfortunately that cost so much I can't afford car parts (the 912 looks really cool sitting in there though). The next thing to come up was a '63 356B that I just had to have as a restoration/race car project. I've been spending a lot of time working on that, since taking the car apart doesn't cost anything. There's other things, but the bottom line is...after being consummed by vintage racing the past two years I just kinda burned out on it. Maybe next year.
The "How" is: not too badly.

From: Rodney A. Harrison; rharison@lightspeed.net; My 912 has been used for PCA and Into the Nigh ralley's. Since there is little incentive for horsepower, the 912 is a near perfect ralley car--fun to drive, reliable, good visibility, and comfortable for a driver and navigator. The rear seat "shelf" also comes in handy. In the current PCA/POC structure, it is my feeling the 912 is outclassed by the 924 and 914's -- both much more modern cars, however, I have never time-trialed my 912. Anyways, ralleying is too much fun.

From: Familien Sletten; familien.sletten@c2i.net; My 66-mod 912 has been used twice for racing. Both times were honour to the great swedish/norwegian lady Greta Molander, famous for having "licence to participate in car-racing" in every decade since 1920! Yes, you saw right! The lady will be 90 years old next month, and has beeb driving all her live. In Norway, they started last year with this honour-race. Only for veteran-cars, that means at least 30 years old, and only for female drivers. Men are allowed as "map-readers", but not as drivers. Last year the race was from Hamar in Norway, to Sunne in Sweden, then back the day after. The same route this year. Last year 1. and 2. of august, this year 2. and 3. august. By the way: I didn't win anything, but had a great time both years! Yours Karen Inger Sletten
