From: Gene Maire;  ; I use a product called california custom.  This product is awesome!!  No rubbing or buffing and it cleans as it shines.  The product will dust off.  I can' believe the ease of this product. Gene Maire

From: Jeanette Ahlgren;  ; "Nemo" was painted with PPG acrylic enamel (hardener: yes.... clear coat: no) four years ago. I have tried several different types of wax, and for this paint, combined with our coastal climate, the Meguiars "No 7 Show Car Glaze and/or Polymer Sealant" seem to be the best. Nemo! The two reasons I quit using the Zymol, is that it seemed to absorb the dampness, and I was FOREVER rebuffing the car to remove the spalling.... or haze.  Meguiar's Polymer Sealant seems to last longer than the Zymol. Also, once a year I use the Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner Polish to remove any build up. This has a slight cutting action to remove slight scuffs and oxidation. This is very much like Zymol HD cleanse, but a lot less expensive.  In between washings, the "Final Inspection" works VERY well to keep Nemo looking like the garage queen that he's not.  Jeanette Ahlgren

From: Florio Giolli;  ; I use ZYMOL, Concours paste wax. ZYMOL is a difficult process, but overall I think it looks the best. I also have a couple of Benz's so I use the same wax for all. This is not an inexpensive proposition either, but it really looks great and a little wax goes a long way. If you get the ZYMOL catalog, you can actually pick the wax that has the amount and type of carnuba you desire. I think that's a great gimmick. I use the ZYMOL preparation products also. You know now that you mention it, the time has come for another bout with the ZYMOL. See you later. Wax on, Wax off.  Florio Voice-Mail 1-800-227-4230 X8243 Mobil at 727-415-6756

From: Martin Torres; ; car wax? who uses car wax on a car thats wears a car cover and is kept in the garage all but a few weeks out of the year?   thanks for your web page, its great! happy new years and viva the 912e.

From: Jason Terada;  My 912 was painted with acrylic lacquer, a rare commodity in Southern California these days with the air pollution Gestapo fining anyone using a non-HVLP spray rig, so I'm super cautious when it comes to waxing. My preferred wax at the moment is "Blitz Wax," a 100% carnuba product manufactured in Ventura, California, according to the writing on the can.  Blitz wax goes on and off easily and leaves a deep, durable gloss. I have also used Harly wax, another 100% carnuba product, with good results in the past, but this brand has gotten hard to find around here. I apply the wax using 100% cotton diaper material. One other product I like is Meguiar's Mirror Glaze--I forget the number, but it's green, and is used prior to applying wax. I have found this product effective in hiding small scratches and swirl marks, and it really deepens the luster when the wax is applied.

From: Clarence;  ; I use Best-of-Show wax from Griots Garage, and on occasion, Zymol. Clarence

From: Robert Burn;  ; For years I used to use Blue Coral, a two stage process: cleaner and a wax. When they changed their product for the worse, I switched to Meguiar's. This is a three stage process (cleaner, polish, wax) that seems to look at least as good as the Blue Coral did. They also have a Quik Detailer that touches up the wax after washinf the car. Since I cover the car when its not in the garage, I can make it last an entire year. That's good, because doing all three stages takes hours to do it right. Bob Burn

From: Peter Baldauf ; ; My 912 is black so I decided to give Zymol Carbon a try. I liked it, I've stuck with it. I use it with the Zymol HD paint cleaner applied first then the wax. Once the wax has been applied, I maintain it with Meguiar's Detail Mist, great stuff. The frequent use of the detail mist keeps waxing down to once a year, very economical considering the price of Zymol products. Peter Baldauf
P.S. Do it by hand.

From: JimboMGA;  ; Several Years ago I purchased what is beginning to seem like a "life-time-supply" of Turtle Wax. Just one little round tub. The sponge applicator pad has long since vanished (and I do mean vanished, it just crumbled, nothing left of it).  I always hear talk of how marvelous the premium wax brands are. I'm too cheap to throw anything away, so I suppose I won't get to try any of the premium brands until maybe the year 2025 when the plastic tub the Turtle Wax is in will probably begin to decay. I spend my time driving, not rubbing.  1969 912 (44/56)

From: julien rychlik; ; The best wax for a hard colour finish is MER applied every three months about 2 hours work to complete and wash with solution of MER every week and allow to dry and buff quickly, Having tried everything from hard wax to polymer compounds this is the best result.
